Hailang

Hi there! I’m Hailang Jiang [ˈhaɪ.lɑŋ d͡ʒɑŋ], a 2nd-year PhD student in the Dept of Linguistics at Harvard University. I specialize in phonology; I’m also studying data science. Feel free to reach out to me at hailangjiang æt g.harvard.edu.

I use quantitative methods (corpus, laboratory, and computational) to study topics including phonotactics, morphophonology, lexicon, and productivity/learnability. I don’t focus on any specific language, but I’ve worked on Japanese, Mandarin, Finnish and Kazakh. See here for my latest projects (any advice and comments are welcome).

Previously, I obtained my master’s degree in linguistics from University College London and my bachelor’s degree in economics from Peking University.
