Hailang

Hi! I’m Hailang Jiang [ˈhaɪ.lɑŋ d͡ʒɑŋ], a first-year PhD student in the Dept of Linguistics at Harvard University. I specialize in phonology; I’m also studying data science. Feel free to reach out to me at first name family name æt g.harvard.edu.

My research interests include phonotactics, experimental/computational methods, morphophonology, productivity/learnability and phonetics-phonology interface. I don’t focus on any specific language, but I’ve worked on Japanese, Mandarin, and some artificial languages. See here for my latest projects (any advice and comments are welcome).

Previously, I obtained my master’s degree in linguistics from University College London and my bachelor’s degree in economics from Peking University.
